The history of Bórbore Winery dates from 1936, when Don José Bórbore, an Italian immigrant, started his industrial activity by creating a small winery. The place chosen was at the foot of the Pie de Palo mountain range, in the Tulum Valley that is the main wine making region of San Juan. He soon gained prestige for the value of his quality and liquorice wines throughout the 20 th century.

He outlived the adversity of two earthquakes, in 1944 and 1977, after which the reconstruction was carried out thanks to a firm will of work.

In the year 2000 the winery was purchased by the Berzenkovich Pulenta family, that has a long winemaking tradition in the region.
